The mission of Austanz Chitin is to manufacture chitosan of the highest quality. Each batch of our chitosan is analysed by NATA accredited laboratories and this information is freely available on our products page.
Our products have;
low levels of heavy metals – As, Hg, Cd and Pb often total < 0.2ppm
low levels of total metals – Al, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Mg, Zn often total <10ppm
low levels of acid insoluble material – generally <0.2%
low levels of ash – often <0.7%
low levels of bacteria – often <20CFU/g
low levels of protein
no bleaching step
Our chitosan is derived from crustacean waste from aquaculture and sustainable wild fisheries.
